"Rush" Legislation to Extend Copyrights

[I heard from a few folks asking me how they could contact Congresspeople
regarding the bills I mentioned in the past letter.
Michael Hart's letter below includes many of the email
addresses. Professor Dennis Karjala's also has a page
(http://www.public.asu.edu/~dkarjala/congress/housejud97.html) with
US mail addresses and phone numbers for the House Judiciary Committee.
Michael and Dennis have both also sent letters to this list arguing
against the copyright extension. I'll forward them on after this one;
they may be useful aids in composing your own messages, if you
wish to do so. -- JMO]
I don't believe in including opinion
with information on how to contact a
variety of government officials on a
matter before congress, so I will be
sending my own thoughts and research
on this matter separately; please do
not combine them when you forward to
others. Thanks!!! Michael S. Hart

About the "fast track" copyright law
being rushed through congress, while
everyone one else is preparing for a
holiday season:
Here are the names and numbers of an
assortment of bills, some of which a
different number applies to the same
name, but the basically ALL have the
express intent of taking away rights
to copy at least one million books.
Some of their email addresses are in
this file, and also. . .

One phone call is worth ten letters.
One letter is worth ten email notes.
