Book People Archive

Indexed version of the archives

I sent the following yesterday to our Moderator:

Assuming zero cost, would you be interested in having the Book People
archives being made searchable with a search engine with relevance order
that gets at meaning?

Background is at www.WordsCloseTogether.com.

I could host the archives at my site. If you like what you see, you could
host a copy at U Penn,  set a link there to WordsCloseTogether.com, or
mention the indexed archive to the listserv in the closing message.

Personally, I don't have either a strong desire or objection for this.

However, the posts in the list are still the intellectual property of the
posters, who've given implied consent for me to archive them here but not
necessarily elsewhere, or in alternate form.  (I do know that some of them
don't want their email addresses publicly harvestable, so my archive here is
served through a program filter than obscures them.)

So you may want to ask on the list whether people would be interested in
this or object to it.

would make anyone seriously uncomfortable, the suggestion will of course be
dropped.
