The article discusses the portrayal of ancient Mediterranean cultures, such as those of Greece and Rome, in movies and television shows. It notes that viewers of these films and television series have a complex relationship with the representation of antiquity on screen, which has been analyzed by scholars and critics in recent years including the film "Hercules" by Pietro Francisci, "Fellini Satyricon " and "Trojan Women" by Michael Cacoyannis.

Dreams and Vision in Fellini's City of Women.
Journal of Popular Film & Television. Fall81, Vol. 9 Issue 3, p114-122. 9p. 1 Black and White Photograph.
The article focuses on the films of Federico Fellini particularly the "City of Women." In Fellini's films, women are regarded as funny objects of sex or objects of mystery, terror, and art. The author states that the women in the film "City of Women" should be unreal because the film is just a dream and all are just a dreamer's prediction. The film is associated with his previous films such as "8/12," "Juliet of the Spirits," "Toby Dammit," "Satyricon ," and "Casanova." One could imply that the men in the film of Fellini cannot relate to real women because Fellini does not see women as separate being.
