A General History and Collection of Voyages and Travels, Arranged in Systematic Order: Forming a Complete History of the Origin and Progress of Navigation , Discovery and Commerce, By Sea and Land, From the Earliest Ages to the Present Time

by Robert Kerr

contrib. by William Stevenson

This is an 18-volume edition of a work by Robert Kerr. It was digitized in page image form by the Early Canadiana Online project, from a microfilmed copy of a print edition published in Edinburgh and London by W. Blackwood and T. Cadell in 1824. The last volume of this edition was written by William Stevenson after Robert Kerr's death.

The Internet Archive has freely accessible page images for the volumes. scanned by Early Canadiana Online. In addition, Project Gutenberg has transcriptions of the volumes (though they appear to lack the maps and other illustrations).

Frances Pritchett of Columbia also has a lightly edited version of the Gutenberg texts, focusing on the South Asia sections.

This is a "meta-book", which stitches together separate files elsewhere on the Web as they appeared in a previously published book. It is subject to removal if someone produces an integrated edition. If that happens, The Online Books Page will point to the integrated version.
