Annual Report of the Bureau of American Ethnology to the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution was an annual publication of the Smithsonian Institution.

Publication History

Annual Report of the Bureau of American Ethnology to the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution began publication in 1881, though the Bureau at the time (and its reports) did not have "American" in its title. That was added to the series in 1897. The reports ceased with number 48 of the new series, published for 1930/31.

• 1881-1933: Gallica has page images for the first 48 numbers in PDF form. The interface is partly in French, and ergonomically leaves much to be desired, but if you have a relatively current Web browser, with a PDF plugin, and scripting on, it should be browseable.
• 1891: An archive at Georgia has the seventh report of the series, in DjVu form.
• 1900: An archive at Georgia has the first part of the nineteenth report, in DjVu form.
