The Annual of the American Schools of Oriental Research is an annual volume of Middle Eastern research published by the American Schools of Oriental Research (now based at Boston University).

Publication History

The Annual of the American Schools of Oriental Research began as The Annual of the American School of Oriental Research in Jerusalem; its first volume covered 1919 and 1920. The annual took on its curreent name in 1922. No issue copyright renewals exist for this annual. It is still published today.

Persistent Archives of Complete Issues

• 1919-1922: JSTOR has volume 1-3 under the Jerusalem name.
• 1922: JSTOR has volume 4 freely readable. (Later volumes on the JSTOR site are restricted access.)
• 1927-1928: HathiTrust has volume 9 (containing "Beth Shemesh, 1928", and "Preliminary Excavations at Tepe Gawra")
• 1952-1954: HathiTrust has volume 32 and 33 (containing "The Excavation at Herodian Jericho, 1951")
