Bulletin of the American Library Association

Bulletin of the American Library Association was the original official member bulletin of the American Library Association.

Publication History

Bulletin of the American Library Association began in 1907. In 1939 the bulletin's name changed to ALA Bulletin, which continued the volume numbering from the old name. No issue copyright renewals were filed for the bulletin under either name; the only contribution copyright renewal I have found was for an article by Marchette Chute from a 1956 issue of ALA Bulletin. In 1970, ALA bulletin was replaced by American Libraries magazine (which started a new series volume numbering).
