The Journal of Religion began in 1921, as a merger of two earlier publications, The American Journal of Theology and The Biblical World. The first copyright-renewed issue is April 1953 (v. 33 no. 2). The first copyright-renewed contribution is from January 1955 (v. 35 no. 1). (More details) It is still published today.
