The Journal of Religion is a scholarly journal of religious studies published by the University of Chicago Divinity School.

Publication History

The Journal of Religion began in 1921, as a merger of two earlier publications, The American Journal of Theology and The Biblical World. Issue copyright renewals began in 1953. It is still published today.

• 1921-1922: JSTOR has volumes 1-2 freely readable online. Later volumes require a JSTOR subscription to access.
