The New York Times

The New York Times is a major American daily newspaper published in New York City.

Publication History

The New York Times began publishing on September 18, 1851 as the New York Daily Times. The name shortened to The New York Times in 1857. Sunday editions began in 1861. Copyright renewals exist for some of its Sunday special sections and individual contributions at least as far back as 1923; the first copyright-renewed full issues were published in 1928. It is still published today.
