Parliamentary Debates

Parliamentary Debates is a record of the debates in both houses of the bicameral New Zealand Parliament.

Publication History

The Parliament first convened in 1854, with a House of Representatives and a Legislative Council. In 1951 the Legislative Council was abolished, leaving just the House. The Parliament continues to this day. The volumes of some of the early debates shown here were not published until years after the session (the years shown below indicate the session dates, not the publication dates). Google scans of these volumes might not be readable outside the United States.
