Publications of the American Economic Association was a journal of economics published by the American Economic Association in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Publication History

Publications of the American Economic Association began publishing in 1886. After 11 volumes, a new series began in 1897, running only for two issues. A third series then began in 1900; the last few volumes were also known as the American Economic Association Quarterly. This journal ended in 1910, and was succeeded by the American Economic Review.

Persistent Archives of Complete Issues

• 1886-1907: HathiTrust has all known issues through volume 8 of the third series available, scanned from various libraries.
• 1886-1907: JSTOR also has all known issues through volume 8 of the third series, published under the "Publications of the American Economic Association" name.
• 1908-1910: JSTOR has volumes 9-11 of the third series, which were published under the "American Economic Association Quarterly" name.
• 1908: HathiTrust has volume 9 of the third series.
• 1909: The Internet Archive has volume 10 of the third series.
• 1910: The Internet Archive has volume 11 of the third series. This was the last volume before the American Economic Review began.
