The Quarterly Journal of Economics is the oldest English-language journal on economics. It has been produced under Harvard University's economics department since the 19th century.

Publication History

The Quarterly Journal of Economics began publishing in 1886. The first issue to have its copyright renewed was the November 1934 issue. It is still published today.

Persistent Archives of Complete Issues

• 1886-1922: HathiTrust has volumes 1-36 readable online. Some later volumes are searchable but not readable.
• 1892-1922: JSTOR has volumes 1-36 freely available online. Later volumes require JSTOR subscription to access.
