The Rebellion Record: A Diary of American Events with Documents, Narratives, Illustrative Incidents, Poetry, etc. was a twelve-volume set (eleven volumes and a supplement to the first volume) that created a history of the American Civil War while the war was still being fought. It was published during the Civil War and in the three years following.
The early volumes of The Rebellion Record: A Diary of American Events with Documents, Narratives, Illustrative Incidents, Poetry, etc. were published in New York by G.P. Putnam from 1861-1863. The later volumes were published by D. Van Nostrand from 1864-1868.
