Scientific American is a magazine for a general, scientifically-literate reader on issues and developments in science and technology.
Scientific American began publication with the August 28, 1845 issue, as a weekly serial. A new series, numbered again from Volume 1, began with the July 2, 1859 issue. It went to monthly publication for the November 1921 issue (ending a separate monthly serial that had started with a January 1920 issue). Issue copyright renewals began in April 1930; renewals for some articles go back at least as far as 1928. The magazine is still published today on a monthly basis.
This is a record of a major serial archive. This page is maintained for The Online Books Page. (See our criteria for listing serial archives.) This page has no affiliation with the serial or its publisher.
