Slate is a US-based online journal of commentary on news, politics, business, arts, and culture, published by the Washington Post Newsweek Interactive Co.
Slate was begun by Microsoft in 1996. At the beginning, it had distinct issues; later, it switched to publishing articles on a continuous basis, as it continues to do today. Most articles appear Monday through Friday. Slate also features online discussion groups.
