The Theosophist is a monthly journal "devoted to Oriental philosophy, art, literature and occultism, embracing Mesmerism, spiritualism, and other secret sciences", published beginning in the 19th century.

Publication History

The Theosophist was inaugurated in India in 1879 by H. P. Blavatsky, who was the journal's first editor. Publication moved at one point to the US, but later moved back to India. It is apparently still published today.

Persistent Archives of Complete Issues

• 1879-1880: An archive at the Theosophical Society in Pasadena, California has complete text of the first volume.
• 2002-2004,2007: An archive at the Theosophical Society in Adyar, India has some recent issues of the magazine online. Readers report that some of the links do not work, but many do.
