The Douai-Rheims Bible is based on the Rheims New Testament, first published in 1583, and the Douai Old Testament, first published in 1609 and 1610; both in turn based on the Latin Vulgate. Most editions published from the 1750s onward are based on a revision and annotation by Richard Challoner.
