Graves on Superior Street, by 1873 there were 600 books; a state law of 1879 allowed for a tax-supported library, in 1890 the first library board was appointed, a reading room opened August 1890 with hours 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day including holidays; Carnegie Library interior; hardwood floors; books; bookshelves; children; boys and girls; librarian; people; tables; chairs; desk; door; ceiling lights
