Suits Against the United States : hearings before a Subcommittee of the Committee on Claims, United States Senate, Sixty-Ninth Congress, first session, on S. J. Res. 92, a joint resolution consenting that certain states may sue the United States, and providing for trial on the merits in any suit brought hereunder by a state to recover direct taxes alleged to have been illegally collected by the United States during the years 1866, 1867, and 1868, and vesting the right in each state to sue in its own name.
