A 1977 renewal for the 1949 book 'Practically Seventeen', by Rosamond du Jardin, mentions that portions of the book were previously published in Canadian Home Journal, but the CCE entry does not give dates for those publications. The renewal could conceivably renew copyrights for stories in that magazine from 1949, but we have not verified whether it did.
This is a Canadian publication. However, it also offered subscriptions to US addresses, and listed office addresses in New York and Chicago as well as in Canada.
