The materials pertain to Major Jacob's experiences as a civilian internee during and after World War II and include official records, correspondence, memoranda, photographs, manuscripts, and printed matter gathered for the publication of Jacob’s book, The Prison Called Hohenasperg: an American Boy Betrayed by His Government during World War II. This collection contains a comprehensive private series of documentation relating to the internment of German Americans, permanent resident aliens and citizens, by the United States government during World War II.
