The Division on Foreign Relations of the National Academy of Sciences-National Research Council was established in 1919. In 1946 the name was changed to Division of International Relations; in 1952, to Office of International Relations, and in 1962, to the Office of the Foreign Secretary. The Dept. of Visual Instruction of the National Education Association of the United States was established in 1923.
