Buffon's Natural History: Containing a Theory of the Earth, a General History of Man, of the Brute Creation, and of Vegetables, Minerals,: &c. &c

by Georges Louis Leclerc Buffon

edited by James Smith Barr

This is an 10-volume annotated translation of a work by the comte de Buffon, published in 1797 and 1807.

The Internet Archive and HathiTrust have freely accessible page images for the volumes. In addition, Project Gutenberg has transcriptions. Some volumes are taken from different sets. I will mark the set each link uses, though I am not aware of textual differences between then.

This is a "meta-book", which stitches together separate files elsewhere on the Web as they appeared in a previously published book. It is subject to removal if someone produces an integrated edition. If that happens, The Online Books Page will point to the integrated version.
