Encyclopaedia Londinensis

edited by John Wilkes

Encyclopedia Londinensis was a "universal dictionary of arts, sciences, and literature" edited by John Wilkes, and published in London in 24 volumes between 1810 and 1829.

Below we link to scans of the volumes at HathiTrust (which for some reason, at this writing only allows access to the volume from the United States), as well as scans of some of the volumes at the Internet Archive that can be read and downloaded anywhere.

The Glasgow School of Art has also scanned some of the Encyclopedia's plates illustrating animals and birds.

This is a "meta-book", which stitches together separate files elsewhere on the Web as they appeared in a previously published book. It is subject to removal if someone produces an integrated edition. If that happens, The Online Books Page will point to the integrated version.
