Annalen der Physik is a long-running German journal of physics. Its title has varied somewhat over time, sometimes to reflect broader coverage that includes chemistry. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)

Publication History

Annalen der Physik began in 1799. It started a second series in 1824 under the title Annalen der Physik und Chemie. A third series began under the same title in 1877. The journal's fourth series, when the title reverted to Annalen der Physik, began in 1900. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. • 1799-1885, 1894, 1897-1921, 1924-1930, 1935-1943: Gallica has many early volumes.
• 1799-1824: HathiTrust has volumes 1-71 and 73-76 of the first series, along with selected volumes from later series numbered from the overall 1799 start.
• 1822: Google Books has volume 72 of the first series.
• 1824-1894: HathiTrust has volumes 1-160 of the second series, and 1-33 and 35-69 of the third series (77-305 overall), published as Annalen der Physik und Chemie. Access to some volumes may be restricted outside the United States. Volumes may be presented in haphazard order.
• 1888: The Internet Archive has volume 34 of the third series.

• 1916: HathiTrust has volume 49 of the fourth series. Access may be restricted outside the United States.
• 1925: The Internet Archive has volume 76 of the fourth series, scanned from microfilm.
