Publication History

The Bennington Banner traces its origins back to 1841 with the founding of the State Banner (later ther Vermont State Banner), which became the Bennington Banner in 1858. Special daily editions were published in August 1877 and 1891 under the Bennington Daily Banner title, to commemorate Vermont centennials. The paper became the Bennington Semi-Weekly Banner in 1894. In 1903 it merged with the Bennington Reformer to become the Bennington Banner and Reformer. That later published in a daily edition called the Bennington Evening Banner (which ran from 1903 to 1961) and in a weekly edition called the Banner and Reformer. Issues since 1961 are simply known as the Bennington Banner. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. It is still published today.
