Publication History

The Book Buyer began in 1867. A second series began in 1878, and a third in 1884. Volumes 26-29 of the third series (1903-1905) were published as "The Lamp: New Series of The Book Buyer". The Book Buyer ran until 1938. No issue copyright renewals were found for this serial. The first copyright-renewed contribution is from December 1935. (More details)

Persistent Archives of Complete Issues

• 1867-1875, 1884-1918: HatiTrust has volumes 3-8 of the first series, and volumes 1-5, 7-8, 10-23, and 25-43 of the third series, as well as parts of other volumes. Some later volumes are searchable but not readable online here.
