The Bookseller

The Bookseller is a major journal of the English book trade, published since the mid-19th century. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)

Publication History

The Bookseller began in 1858, and soon absorbed Bent's Literary Advertiser, which has been published since 1802. It absorbed The Stationery Trades' Journal in 1922, and was known as The Bookseller and The Stationery Trades' Journal from then until 1928. It was then called The Publisher and Bookseller from then until 1933, when it reverted to its current name. It is still published today.

Persistent Archives of Complete Issues

• 1861-1865, 1867-1908, 1910-1915, 1928: HathiTrust has most issues from 1861 to 1915, and a volume from 1928. Access to volumes after 1898 may be restricted outside the United States. Some later volumes may be searchable but not readable online here.
• 1882, 1889-1890, 1909-1911, 1913-1918, 1920-1922: HathiTrust also has many late 19th and early 20th century issues. Access to volumes after 1898 may be restricted outside the United States.
• 1908: The Internet Archive has a volume with most of the 1908 issues, including the "jubilee" 50th anniversary issue and the Christmas issue.
• 1923: HathiTrust has a volume with the 1923 issues. Access may be restricted outside the United States.
