Brassey's Naval Annual

Brassey's Naval Annual was an annual publication on British and other navies founded by Thomas Brassey in the late 19th century. Its title varied over time. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)

Publication History

Brassey's Naval Annual began in 1886 as The Naval Annual. Brassey's Naval Annual appeared on the title page in 1915. No volumes were published in 1917 or 1918. It was known as Brassey's Naval and Shipping Annual starting with the 1920-21 volume, but the title returned to Brassey's Naval Annual in 1936, and shortened to Brassey's Annual in 1950. The first copyright-renewed issue is 1943. We know of no actively copyright-renewed contributions. (More details) The last Brassey's Annual was published in 1973, but Brassey's continued to publish annuals under other titles until at least the late 20th century.
