Brentano's Book Chat

Brentano's Book Chat was a magazine and catalog of current and rare books, published by Brentano's, a New York-based bookseller.

Publication History

Brentano's began publishing a Book Chat magazine in 1886. The initial Book Chat series appears to have run until 1893. A new series called Brentano's Book Chat appears to have begun around 1907. Another new series began in September 1915, and a new "enlarged series" began in 1921. The last issue of Brentano's Book Chat we know of is the January-February 1930 issue, published in late 1929. Brentano's was reorganized in 1930, but continued selling books under the Brentano's name until it was absorbed by Borders in the 1980s.
