The Federal Register is the official daily publication for US federal government rules, proposed rules, and notices of federal agencies and organizations, as well as executive orders and other presidential documents. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)

Publication History

The Federal Register began in 1936. It is still published today.

Persistent Archives of Complete Issues

• 1936-present: The US government printing office has official copies of all volumes.
• 1936-2000, 2012-2014: HathiTrust also has scanned print for volumes 1-65 and 77-79. There may be gaps in some volumes here.
• 1994-present: Federalregister.gov has unofficial human- and machine-searchable and browsable copies of the Federal Register contents from 1994 to date.
