Journal of the Sanitary Institute began in 1894, succeeding the Transactions of the Sanitary Institute of Great Britain. All content of this serial is in the public domain in the US. (More details) In 1904, it was renamed Journal of the Royal Sanitary Institute. The volume numbering continued.

• 1894-1904: HathiTrust has volumes 15-18, 20-24, and the first half of volume 25 freely readable online. (The journal changed title in the middle of volume 25.) Access to volumes after 1898 may be restricted outside the United States.
