Mémoires

Belgium's Institute of Natural Sciences (RBINS) issued Mémoires series over much of the 20th century. The exact title varied with the name of the institute, and with the language used. (Papers in the series typically used the series title Mémoires in French, Verhandelingen in Dutch, and Memoirs in English.)

Publication History

The Mémoires series began in 1900. The first 8 volumes continued multiple Memoires, but in the 1920s the Memoires began to be issued individually with their own numbering. A second series began in parallel to the main series in 1935, and ran until the early 1970s. The last of the Memoires we know of was published in 1984.

Persistent Archives of Complete Issues

• 1900-1948: The Institute archive has volumes 1-8, and Memoires 32-110 of the original series.
• 1900, 1902-1903, 1905-1921: HathiTrust has Memoires 1-2, 4-8, and 10-31, most of the ones that appear in the first 8 volumes. Access may be restricted outside the United States. Some other Memoires may be searchable but not readable online here.
• 1935-1971: The Institute archive has Memoires 1-68 and 70-86 of the second series.
• 1948-1984: The Institute Archive also has Memoires 111-152 and 154-179 of the original series (sometimes referred to explicitly as the First Series).
