Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report

Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (or MMWR) is a series of reports published by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)

Publication History

Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report began in 1952. Early issues are sometimes cataloged simply as "Morbidity and Mortality", but "Weekly Report" appears on the front page as well from the very first issue onwards, and it became an official part of the title in 1976. It absorbed the CDC's Abortion Surveillance reports in the early 1980s. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. (More details) It is still published today.
