Monthly Journal of Medical Science was the most common title of a nineteenth century British medical journal.
Monthly Journal of Medical Science began in 1841 as the London and Edinburgh Journal of Medical Science. It shortened its name to Monthly Journal of Medical Science in 1846, beginning a new series the same year, and again in 1850. In 1855 it changed its name to Monthly Journal of Medicine, before merging with the Edinburgh Medical and Surgical Journal later that year to form the Edinburgh Medical Journal.
