The New Monthly Magazine was the short title of a British magazine published over much of the 19th century. Its full title varied somewhat over time. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)
The New Monthly Magazine began in 1814 as The New Monthly Magazine and Universal Register. It began a new series as The New Monthly Magazine and Literary Journal in 1821. It then became The New Monthly Magazine and Humorist in 1837, and The New Monthly Magazine in 1853. A third series began in 1872, and a fourth series began in 1879 (which also used an overall numbering series starting with 116). The title shortened to The New Monthly in 1882. Publication ceased in 1884.
