The New York World began in 1887 as The Evening World. It published both morning and evening editions from 1893 to 1903, when it reverted to just an evening edition. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. (More details) In 1931 it was acquired by the New York Telegram, and the combined paper was known as the New York World-Telegram for a time.
