The New York World

The New York World was a newspaper published in New York in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Publication History

The New York World began in 1887 as The Evening World. It published both morning and evening editions from 1893 to 1903, when it reverted to just an evening edition. No issue copyright renewals were found for this serial. The first copyright-renewed contribution is from April 23, 1924. (More details) In 1931 it was acquired by the New York Telegram, and the combined paper was known as the New York World-Telegram for a time.
