Publication History

The original Pennsylvania Archives series was edited primarily by Samuel Hazard and published in 12 volumes from 1852 to 1856, with an index volume published in 1860. The second series, edited by John B. Linn and William Henry Egle, was published in 19 volumes from 1874 to 1890. The third series, primarily edited by Egle, was published in 30 volumes from 1894 to 1899. The fourth series, edited by George Edward Reed, was published in 12 volumes from 1900 to 1902. The fifth series, edited by Thomas Lynch Montgomery, was published in 8 volumes in 1906. The sixth series, also edited by Montgomery, was published in 14 volumes from 1906 to 1907. The seventh series, supervised by Montgomery, was published in 5 volumes in 1914. The eighth series, edited by Gertrude MacKinney and Charles F. Hoban, was published in 8 volumes from 1931 to 1935. The ninth and final series, also edited by McKinney, was published in 10 volumes from 1931 to 1935. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. Listings below are in series and volume numbering order, which is not always the same as publication order.
