The People

The People was a newspaper of the Socialist Labor Party of America. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)

Publication History

The People began in 1891, and appears to have succeeded an earlier paper, "Bulletin of the Social Labor Movement". In 1899 a breakaway faction published a rival edition with the same title and issue numbering (which in 1901 was renamed The Worker). Later, the Socialist Labor Party published editions titled Weekly People and Daily People, reflecting different frequencies and also sometimes different constituencies. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. Print publication of The People ceased in 2008. An online edition continued until 2011, when it too ceased publication.
