Schmollers Jahrbuch für Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaften began publishing under that title in 1968, succeeding Schmollers Jahrbuch für Gesetzgebung, Verwaltung und Volkswirtschaft and continuing its volume numbering. Schmollers Jahrbuch für Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaften ran under that title until 1971, and the next year was renamed Zeitschrift für Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaften.
