Spalding's Official Base Ball Guide

Spalding's Official Base Ball Guide was an annual baseball guide, founded by A. G. Spalding, and published by his American Sports Publishing Company.

Publication History

Spalding's Official Base Ball Guide first appeared in 1878. Its name varied slightly over time. In 1940, it merged with another publication to become The Official Baseball Guide. A modern descendant of the Guide is published by the Sporting News.

• 1880-1894: HathiTrust has many guides from the late 19th century.
