Southwestern Historical Quarterly began publication in 1897 as the Quarterly of the Texas State Historical Association. It was renamed Southwestern Historical Quarterly in 1912. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. (More details) It is still published today, and is the oldest scholarly journal in Texas.
