Publication History

Van Nostrand's Engineering Magazine began in 1869 as Van Nostrand's Eclectic Engineering Magazine. "Eclectic" was dropped from the title in 1879. Van Nostrand's Engineering Magazine ran until 1886, and then merged with the American Railroad Journal to form the Railroad and Engineering Journal.

Persistent Archives of Complete Issues

• 1869-1878: The Smithsonian has volumes 1-19 of Van Nostrand's Eclectic Engineering Magazine.
• 1879-1886: The Smithsonian has volumes 20-35 of Van Nostrand's Engineering Magazine. Volume 22 may be mislabeled "23", but it is present.
