Emerson Bennett

(Bennett, Emerson, 1822-1905)

Newspaper sketch of Emerson Bennett clipped from a newspaper around 1875. The sidebar text in this image clearly shows that the image was first published in the United States prior to 1923. It states that at the time of the publication, Bennett had been writing for over 25 years. Since Bennett began his writing career around 1843, this image was likely published between 1875 and 1880. The sidebar text also indicates that at the time this image was published Mr. Bennett was still alive. However he died in 1905, so this image was clearly published well before 1923.
