John Stuart Blackie FRSE (28 July 1809 – 2 March 1895) was a Scottish classical scholar and man of letters. He served as Professor of Humanity at the University of Aberdeen from 1839 to 1852, and then as Professor of Greek at the University of Edinburgh from 1852 to 1882. (From Wikipedia)
