This is an image of Harvard University President James Byant Conant cropped from a larger image showing Conant receiving the Medal of Merit and Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster from President Harry S Truman.  Dr. Vannevar Bush also appears in the original photo.  According to the information from the Truman Library and President Museum accompanying the original image, the picture was taken by Abbie Rowe of the National Park Service, which places it in the public domain.  The Truman Library information acknowledges the usage status of the image as
