Summary: Sir Richard Gregory (1864-1952), Editor of Nature; his wife Dorothy Page Gregory (Lady Gregory); and writer H.G. (Herbert George) Wells (1866-1946), photographed by Watson Davis, August 1938, outside the University Arms Hotel, Cambridge, during a British Association for the Advancement of Science (BAAS) meeting. Richard Gregory had become friends with Wells while training to be a science teacher at the Royal College of Science, South Kensington, London, where Wells was also a student. Gregory served as editor of Nature, 1919-1938, and as BAAS President during World War II.
