Summary: Psychologist Charles Hubbard Judd (1873-1946) was educated at Wesleyan University (A.B., 1894), University of Leipzig (Ph.D., 1896), and served as director of the Psychological Laboratory at Yale University from 1902 to 1909.  He was a professor and head of the Department of Education at the University of Chicago, 1909-1938.  He volunteered to serve as an expert witness at the 1925 Scopes anti-evolution trial and his statement was entered into the record.

Charles Hubbard Judd (February 20, 1873 – July 18, 1946) was an American educational psychologist who played an influential role in the formation of the discipline. Part of the larger scientific movement of this period, Judd pushed for the use of scientific methods to the understanding of education and, thus, wanted to limit the use of theory in the field. Judd was known for applying scientific methods to the study of educational issues. (From Wikipedia)
