(Snaith, J. C. (John Collis), 1876-1936)

John Collis Snaith (24 February 1876 – 8 December 1936) was an English first-class cricketer active 1900 who played for Nottinghamshire. He was born in Nottingham; died in Hampstead. He was also a novelist, writing as J. C. Snaith, and played in the Authors Cricket Club alongside fellow authors A. A. Milne and P. G. Wodehouse among others. (From Wikipedia)
