Mary Tighe

(Tighe, Mary, 1772-1810)

This portrait of Mary Tighe produced in her lifetime was used as the basis for an engraving that appeared alongside her poems published in 1811 after her death. A second engraving based on this same work was produced for the 1816 edition. Further details about the image are mentioned in the Dictionary of National Biography entry for Mary Tighe available at WikiSource. According to the National Gallery of Ireland, the portrait was exhibited at the Portrait Gallery, Dublin in 1872.
